Broken Hip

Yesterday was just like any other day. That all changed with a phone call. Its strange to think that a tone of voice can tell you everything before they explain…

My dearest Nanna had a severe fall. Fracturing her pelvis, splitting her head open and breaking her fema at the hip in 3 different sections.

I grabbed my camera and headed to the hospital. The first few photos you will see are of my mum and sister taking in what the specialist had to say. Having bones break at this age is not good. There is a high risk of complications during and after surgery. The specialist laid it down the line in the nicest way possible, If there is a complication during surgery, we don’t think it is in the best interest to resuscitate…

Elsie has gone into surgery late this afternoon.

My camera is My shield, My protector, My comfort, My strength.
